I do.  It rocks.

I don't understand by what you mean by the question `is it just like a
normal LAN connection?'; while you do connect your PC to the Canopy
subscriber module (i.e., the one that's up your roof) via Ethernet, it
doesn't necessarily mean its a LAN connection.  The Canopy SM IIRC
usually works as a bridge, providing IP from the Canopy network that
services internet access, although it can also be configured to run NAT
and VLAN, among other things.

My current configuration has a cheap Netgear wireless router dividing
the connectivity to my two machines, both running Linux.  No big
problems about connectivity.
