GPLv3 Snares Microsoft

Although its spokespersons are doing their darndest to deny it, it looks
like Microsoft's deal with Novell has ensnared it with GPLv3 issues.
That's not an opinion based on extensive legal analysis, but rather on
Microsoft's own actions.

As reported in "Microsoft Says It Is Not Bound by GPLv3", Microsoft keeps
saying GPLv3 isnt at all relevant to its commitments. The company's
announcement, "A Microsoft statement about GPLv3", said: Microsoft does
not grant any implied or express patent rights under or as a result of
GPLv3, and GPLv3 licensors have no authority to represent or bind
Microsoft in any way.

But, as Joe Wilcox pointed out "Say It Aint So", Microsoft's own actions
show what it really thinks:

If Microsoft isnt bound by GPLv3 -- or at least doesnt believe so
-- then why essentially change the terms of its agreement with
     some Linux vendors?
