Umm... NFS? Less security features? And SMB -- secure? You've got to be
kidding me.

Seriously, I wouldn't go for using NFS on Linux unless I really had
to -- there are serious issues with running the needed portmapper etc.,
making it hard to lock down a Linux box in that case.

But, that's me. YMMV.
