It's amazing how some little things evoke strong sentiments :-)
I didn't like the brown color and a few other things that come with Ubuntu.
That's why I used Kubuntu.  Love KDE :-)   But then that's just me.

I think most Linux desktop distros are, or could be made, more or less then
same.  It's the overall user experience -- the can't be written into code --
that matters.  You like it, you stick with it.  That's how it'll always be
:-)
