Actually, I will be setting up a proxy mail server and it is connected to 5 local mail server. I only need to authenticate them with a domain append to their username so that I can distribute them to where the server they will connect. I need to append the domain to redirect them to the real server where their email is stored. Usually, the Account Name is their login name. If I will create a login name with a domain append, would you think there will be a problem? How do you that the customer login using their email address instead of the Account Name only? Do you configure that in your MTA or just in the Linux files?

After successfully setting up a server, I test it using Email client. I input the Email ( [EMAIL PROTECTED]) , Account Name (nelson) , Password (XXXXX) , Incoming and Outgoing server. Then it works. Is there a possibility that I change Account Name from nelson to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is there a way I can append a domain in every login name? In my logical thinking, if I change my login name that way in my server, the email will be [EMAIL PROTECTED] or similar to that. I want the email add to be the same ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) but the login name will have a domain next to it such as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is this possible to linux? In the first place, why would you want to make it cumbersome for the user? Logging on as nelson is just fine unless you are hosting multiple domains on that mail server, I think? The mail server I built before was using the email address as domain name and users complained that it is too long that is why I changed it to just plain account name without the domain as logon. -- http://jangestre.wordpress.com ____________________________________________________ Tired of spam?
