we've had problems with webcams in terms of color fidelity (i.e.
colors don't appear correctly) and brightness/contrast problems. a lot
of the webcams require RGB->BGR or some other remapping of colors. a
lot of applications that use the v4l dev don't give much in terms of
controlling color/hue/brightness/contrast either.

so we're looking for a cam that will work well without remapping,
calibration optional.
