I remember the days of 300 baud and you had to ring direct to the bbs that you wanted to get the files off. But both Globe and PLDT advertise a product they cannot provide reliably. We all blame the International Pipe speeds but that is what we want since the local links as discussed in another thread is a disaster, caused by their behavior. The only company that has proved to me that the Internet does really work and exist is Eastern. Remember we pay for what we get, and we pay dearly here, If you need the speed purchase 1 Level above what you need. It brings me back to the old joke PLDT had the most advanced phone system in 1970 and we still have it.. Now don't start me on Electricity and a conglomerate who's preparation for the eventual Typhoons which will hit Metro Manila had a black out for 5-7days some had longer. And then blamed it on the trees and the strength of the storm, Hell it was weak 97-98 was stronger. Who has seen a power pole standing straight unless it has 10 tie wires holding it in position. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List plug@lists.linux.org.ph (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
