it's part of the OS (centos 5.1). so i dont think it's a dependecy
problem. i dont have problem  running it on real hardware (HN, as
they say) only on VE due to linux capability(?). it failed to switch
from root to 'nscd' user as i understand from the strace.

also, running with -d option:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# nscd -d
31779: Failed to drop capabilities
nscd: cap_set_proc failed
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]#

the reason why i needed nscd, is that im doing ldap for posix and
samba accounts.
