hi sir.
first u can check with top, then SHIFT+p, if it's really ur smtp server
that's eating up ur cpu. if u'r using postfix, top will show which part of
postfix is eating it up.
if it's queue manager, you can try setting-up a relay server then flush the
queue to see if all mails will be dumped there. if u don't have a separate
machine for relay, try deleting all mails in queue to see if it frees up cpu.
queued mails can sometimes cause high cpu utilization.
u can try using netstat to investigate a particular ip connecting to ur port
25. something like
netstat -ant | grep EST | grep :25
would do.
