what you'd really want is to split those jobs into 2 separate  
machines. get a decent server for 15k to 25k... for all your lamp  
stuff, etc. etc. 2 to 4gb of ram, would be good. dual core, lots of  
sata storage and of course your ups.

As for video editing... that's really for a separate machine. as  
you'll find that that taxes CPU, and should have all the ram you can  
afford, not to mention the biggest video card, as well as your video  
capture boards, etc. etc. you can find.  there are good linux software  
for that, not to mention windows, and mac software-- what works and  
can afford right? Really, not a great idea to virtualize a video  
editing machine.

Virtualization is a great piece of technology, but it isn't a magic  
pill.
