Thinking of OpenLDAP to use for authentication? I don't use it, so can't comment. Samba's easiest to setup, obviously. Works for both Macs and Windows. NFS, had a problem finding a free client once... and it took time to look for one so I simply just dropped it out or the project. I personally use AFP. AFP = Apple Talk you need to enable the kernel module, if it isn't. i've encountered difficulty w/Samba existing from the same server as AFP on my File Server. not problem, per se, more like an annoyance: OS X seem to default to samba. Personally, I prefer AFP and since I don't have windows machines, I simply turned samba off. Now, I'm not sure if you have AFP on Windows, never did bother to find out since we don't have Windows here. Hope it helps. ------------------ Cocoy "People who are really serious about software should make their own hardware." --Alan Kay _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List http://lists.linux.org.ph/mailman/listinfo/plug Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
