Hi, 1. In my old workplace we assemble all the components, going for the full branded package means you will have no control in filtering out the unsupported hardware. 2. I can't say for sure ... but for laptops I highly recommend MSI brands or Asus. Dell seems to have a growing support for Linux in both laptops & desktops : http://linux.dell.com/desktops.shtml
