Well, that's the US case... I don't know any Pinoy techies who struck it rich! (Well nobody did from our ISP era) What I would like for myself, is to be able to hack on open source for fun, like you; for profit - resume and skill building; and also for altruistic reasons. I for one have no skill in hacking telescopes, vacuum tubes or motor vehicles.
