just wanna put a word in for Tri-Isys, where I have a VPS. If your target market is local, you can't go wrong with their server(s), hosted somewhere in a PLDT location in C-5 (I think). Only 7 hops for PLDTdsl subscribers. However it is NOT cheap, so I'd recommend this only for when your service (or whatever it is youre working on) is paying for itself ie. you have a business going.
Otherwise, my 2nd best bet is to go with Rimuhosting, my previous VPS host. Albeit their servers are in New Zealand, their service and attention to customers is number 1 in my book. I learned a LOT from them. Both services are terrific. Mababait sila and geek friendly. Scott of Tri Isys is nuts about service, and Eric their super geek assigned to me is humble and extremely capable. They save me a ton of stress so I can concentrate on other things, which is about as glowing a recommendation as I can give I suppose.
