This may be a little late, as Sun Tech Days starts today, but I had a peek at the agenda (I've been getting spam about it from Sun for months...) and there are some very interesting topics there... e.g.
Java 6 and 7, Groovy and Grails, OpenSolaris packaging and building applications for OpenSolaris; using DTrace and friends for OpenSolaris optimization; J2ME (Forum Nokia is a sponsor); Swing; Spring, etc. etc. It's an open-source and Java enthusiast's smorgasbord! I would hang around, except that I have things to do...
