Maybe you have to go back to drawing table and see the usage pattern of your diskless clients. If you are just running typical apps like OO and Firefox, 256MB is more than enough. You can get rid of swap space.
Getting swap via network filesystem is a bad idea. You will suffer from reliability problems. Not to mention it is very slow. Swap from flash may be alternative but you should remember that it is many times slower than hard disk. Save your self the trouble. Buy extra RAM.
