At the risk of sounding like an Oracle blowhard (if I'm not already...) OracleVM and the associated management tools are Free as in Beer. And of course the underlying OS (Oracle Enterprise Linux) is a RHEL re-spin with additional enhancements.
So if you're already paying RH for support, it's pretty easy to switch to OEL and cheaper too... (as I understand, RH support locally was done by Touch Solutions before, and MSI-ECS now; since Touch was dis-affiliated from Red Hat, they've signed up with Oracle and so now if you pay for OEL support locally, you will actually get Touch). Although OEL is downloadable from Oracle's web site and you need not pay if you don't want to (you can't do yum update unless you pay the annual fee though). AFAIK VMWare is making their management tools for ESX Free as in Beer as well though. On Sat, Mar 28, 2009 at 8:25 AM, Michael Tinsay <[email protected]> wrote: > > Noted.
