Domain controller settings are in /etc/samba/smb.conf, but only 1 of the
servers should be made a *Primary* Domain Controller. Have you ran testparm on
your new server?
Also, what db backend are you using for samba? Whatever it is you have to
replicate this also to your new server, unless you're giving all your users new
samba accounts/passwords.
