I'd buy it if it weren't a dead end. A real app ecosystem will likely
never develop for Meego, now that Stephen Elop has announced his
company's sold its soul to the devil and orphaned Meego as part of the
deal. While it's supposed to be a true GNU/Linux system that is
supposed to be able to run native GNU/Linux apps, the very thought of
using applications with interfaces designed with a mouse and keyboard in
mind on a touch screen makes me cringe.

On a side note, I have no idea why some Nokia apologists out there don't
seem to question the wisdom of Elop's maneuvers. The only other
alternative they had was to run with Android, and they say that doing so
would have made Nokia another "me too" company like Samsung, LG, HTC,
and all the rest. But how is going WP7 any different? Samsung, LG, and
HTC also make WP7 phones, and going by their dismal sales in comparison
to their Android counterparts (it has been said that the patent
royalties paid by these Android manufacturers to Microsoft gets them
more money than WP7 does!) it seems highly doubtful that Nokia can do
any better, unless Microsoft shares with them some secret sauce that
they aren't giving to their other WP7 partners, and that seems extremely
unlikely to say the least, given that it isn't in Microsoft's interest
to hold back on anything they have that might give their platform an
edge over iOS and Android.
