I finally managed to get Virtualbox 2.0.4 reinstalled. I had to do a
complete removal, then a complete removal of the residual package. (Why
does "complete removal" not do a *complete removal*?) Then I did a
reinstall, but it still didn't work. Rinse, repeat, and it worked. I
now have my Virtualbox back. All is back to where it was.

Right now I'm struggling with the most annoying thing about Virtualbox
- getting Guest Additions installed. You can set up shares for your
guest OS so it can see your home folder and whatever you want it to
see, but the shares are not visible to the guest OS until Guest
Additions are installed. And Guest Additions requires an ISO from Sun.
And when you download it, it goes into the Desktop. But Virtualbox
never looks in the Desktop for the ISO and there is no way to tell it
where to look. Gaaah.

Not to worry folx. The Canadian is improving my attitude. I'll get
there.
