I assume you're talking about Ubuntu?

You can change the color scheme, you know.

My old 512MB laptop really didn't like the change from Ubuntu 8.04 to
8.10; I haven't decided yet whether I want to go back to 8.04 or forward
to the latest Xbuntu -- I should just install it and play, I suppose.
