   This is a people problem that has a solution. Slackware does address this
by adding .new to each changed config file and advising users (in the
UPGRADE doc) to move any customization to the new file before changing its
name to the default. There are still residual issues, however, depending on
what else has changed.

   Still, I think that better communication between distribution preparers
and distribution users could successfully address these issues. Perhaps I'm
naive and wrong about this.
