I associate Vinagre with vino. Once vino is installed on the target
desktop, run 

vino-preferences 

in a GUI-based command line. The options should be intuitive. Once
enabled, you should then be able to use Vinagre from a remote system,
assuming you don't have a firewall configured between the systems (the
default TCP/IP port is 5900).
