Dunno about the systems that go to other non-profits, etc., but the "Earn a free PC" deal they have provides a CRT, not LCD, monitor. For the most part though they recycle the old stuff; currently keeping CPUs running at or above ~1.3 GHz for example. I'm currently in their Build program and can vouch for it being a nice nerdy way to "contribute".
