I might be able to help, though my CMS of choice is Drupal. I'm pretty overcommitted right now on volunteer projects, but if nothing else I can lend moral support? > I think the design of the PLUG page should mirror that of other open source > / academic web documents -- a simple "html presentation is about good enough > for me" style look. Agreed on all points. > Given that the mailing lists are the source of up-to-date news, the archives > should be presented to the user as a First Class feature on the website [...] Agreed here, too. You should be able to easily see that the list, and thus the group, is alive and kicking. Best way to do that is a first-class archives spot. I could see dropping specific details on the meetings. Or, on the flip side, we could add more specific details in the form of a calendar of events; but this would require more maintenance. I am a Drupal/PHP/JS developer, so may be able to help on that front. Not so much with design.
