I ran into a similar problem a couple years ago with a new HP computer - the then-current linux drivers wouldn't properly support the HP sata host adaptor. I called HP customer service, complained, and they ended up sending me a set of recovery disk in the mail at no charge. You could try the same thing with Samsung. Might work.
