It always worked fine with all x86_64 versions of Ubuntu through Jaunty. Just now I plugged it into my desktop with Intrepid x86_64 and got the same results. The only non-hardware possibility is that there is firmware inside the device which has somehow become goobered up. The scan bar that travels back and forth under the glass is fully lit up as before. This morning I finally found Canon's tech support e-mail service. I asked if I could get a service manual or if there is a repair depot somewhere. But I paid $90 for it brand new several years ago, so it's not worth spending a lot of money to repair. Used ones sell for $10-$30 on eBay. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
