https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2 First hit on google for "Grub2 screen resolution". Search the page for "resolution". I had no problem setting this up on my laptop. Not in Linux atm but if you want my grub.conf let me know. Kernel uprades (via the Ubuntu Update Manager) reset customized grub.conf files.
