It seems your concern is: what do I name my private IP block? Anything you want to. Just note that if you re-use an already used domain name you could cause confusion for yourself or your users. If you already have a domain name then use that for your public/private DNS needs. If not then make something up: fizzle.bang.boop, bazzle.bang.boop, etc.
To your recommendation about re-use of public domain names, uh, no thank you. That would be horribly confusing even for those of us that do know what the address bar is (hah, googling yahoo.com) and what DNS is.
