I have a Thinkpad T61 with nVidia Quadro NVS 140M running Fedora 14 x86_64 (Gnome). After several days of googling and fiddling I managed to get the laptop display (normally 1680x1050) to run at 1400x1050, using the nouveau driver.
I also have a Viewsonic VG2021m (borrowed from Keith Lofstrom) which can do 1400x1050 as its native preferred resolution. It is plugged into the VGA output on my T61. I have tried dozens of things, but the Viewsonic remains black. Actually, it is not completely black, the power light remains on and there is a hint of the backlight. It is definitely getting a signal. But I can't get it to display the same as the laptop screen. Xrandr sees both displays: [...@devil8 ~]$ xrandr -q Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1400 x 1050, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS-1 connected 1400x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 331mm x 207mm 1680x1050 60.0 + 60.0 50.0 1400x1050 60.0* 1280x1024 59.9 1280x960 59.9 1152x864 60.0 1024x768 59.9 800x600 59.9 640x480 59.4 720x400 59.6 640x400 60.0 640x350 59.8 VGA-1 connected 1400x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 408mm x 306mm 1400x1050 60.0*+ 1280x1024 75.0 60.0 1152x864 75.0 1024x768 75.1 70.1 60.0 832x624 74.6 800x600 72.2 75.0 60.3 56.2 640x480 72.8 75.0 66.7 60.0 Note that both are set to +0+0, i.e., they are set to be mirrors. Google and I are both out of ideas. Any suggestions welcome. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
