I have some friends I am trying to help who live out in Gales Creek,
currently run Ubuntu 10.04 desktop and would like to gain internet
access. After viewing the horror stories reported by Blue Sky users, we
are thinking mobile broadband. It is my understanding that presently, in
their outlying area, it will be 3G rather than 4G.

Of course when you mention Linux to sales people, they wet themselves.
One fellow corrected me that their USB "Card" did not contain a radio
!@#$. Does anyone have experience with Ubuntu (or other distribution)
and Verizon wireless broadband devices? How fast and did you consider it
usable? It HAS to better than dial-up????
