It would have made more of an impression on me had I not been working 
with an Eeepc, which *is* just an uncomfortably large smartphone. :-)

I typically install Ubuntu only on laptops; its firmware support for 
wireless devices is (imo) ridiculously good. Desktops and servers get 
Debian or CentOS (or, occasionally, Fedora).
