I am attempting to duplicate much of what is on my desktop on my laptop. One of my activities is transcription of recordings of interviews. I used to use Express Scribe on Windows for that but a couple of months ago I found two Linux tools that successfully -- for me, anyway -- replace Express Scribe. They are the programs Transcribe and Footpedal. Both are installed from .deb files. They are now both installed on my laptop. The problem is that I don't remember how I got Footpedal onto the launcher panel. Transcribe installed itself in the Sound & Video sub menu of the Applications menu and it was a simple right-click to add it to the launcher panel. I don't find Footpedal in any of the sub menus of the Applications menu. I can start Footpedal from the command line, and it acts as expected. When installed it displays an icon of a foot over next to the date/time display.
I tried right-clicking on the launcher panel and clicking on "Add to panel...". But when I type in footpedal the list of available programs goes blank. Any hints on where to look to solve this? Thanks. -- Regards, Dick Steffens _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
