This morning I moved my virtual terminals from rxvt to urxvt in order to
gain support of UTF-8. According to the demo text file, it works like a
charm (except for not displaying Aramaic, or Armenian, or some such language
about which I do not care at all -- sorry, John!). However, there's still
one issue I've not been able to resolve.

I set background and foreground text colors in /etc/DIR_COLORS, and rxvt
used them just like xterm did. However, urxvt doesn't seem to know they're
there and I end up seeing directory entries in blue on the terminal window's
blue background, rather than in yellow on blue. A Google search produced the
rxvt wiki where I read to add TERM rxvt into /etc/DIR_COLORS.

Well, that's already there, so I added 'TERM urxvt' to the file, saved it,
and even logged out and restarted X. Still no joy: the directory and other
file colors do not follow what's set in /etc/DIR_COLORS. I see nothing
relevant in 'man urxvt' or 'man 7 urxvt'.

A pointer to how to get urxvt to use /etc/DIR_COLORS is needed.
