Hokay. I found out why by contacting tech support at slicehost.net. Looking at the message from my mail log and how the slice was set up on their end they concluded that the dabo folks mis-confitured the dns lookup. However, two dabo developers insisted it was a problem on my machine. Doesn't matter now. I realized that dabo gives me nothing that I do not already have with wxPython.
