The PLUG Advanced Topics, Perl Mongers, and Postgresql groups all meet
at Free Geek. The acoustics are not noteworthy, since the meeting room
is only about 20'x30' and gets crowded with more than 20 people. The
classroom has slightly more space. Both spaces are quiet and there
usually isn't anything else happening in the building during the
meetings. You would need to get approved and deal with access issues
since the building is locked after 6pm.
Another option might be Collective Agency.

The only thing that could save UNIX at this late date would be a new $30
shareware version that runs on an unexpanded Commodore 64.
