In anticipation of upgrading my Fedora 14 laptop to Fedora 16 I decided
to switch from Gnome. I spent a long time trying to get KDE to work
properly, but eventually gave up and moved on to XFCE. After several
hours of tweaking and fixing it the way I wanted it I decided to log
out and back in again. And when the login screen came up my only
choices were Gnome and KDE. XFCE is gone, disappeared into the ether,
like a soft vapor on a summer day. OK, it's a chilly rainy fall day,
but it's still gone.

I searched in Yum Extender on "xfce" and reinstalled everything, but no
joy.

I suspect it's just an entry in some login settings file, but I don't
know where to look or why it disappeared. I hope there is someone out in
PLUG-land who understands how login screens work, because I need some
clues.
