What hardware and software do I need to take the output of my VCR and create a digital file that I can then burn to a DVD that will play in the DVD player attached to my TV?
I'm thinking about reducing the physical size of my video tape library and removing the VCR from the collection of boxes under the TV. Most of these are commercial tapes, but I'm assuming I can treat them the same way I treat my vinyl audio recordings: I own a copy and can make a backup copy. Any gotchas to be concerned about?
