Sounds reasonable to me, although if a given connection's nameserver
is down, it's likely that other stuff is broken too.  Given what we've
heard from Spiritone, it sounds as if changes to the assigned IP will
be very rare.

I've never used dynamic DNS before, but obviously many people do.  My
current plan is to install the latest version of openwrt on my router
and use the ddns-scripts package to update DNS.  We use easyDNS.com
for DNS hosting.  They support dynamic DNS, so hopefully it will just
require a little tweaking to switch over to a dynamic DNS setup.
