Galen: The Asus P8H61-M claims that it is an EFI board, so I probably should be using UEFI.
Unfortunately, I am currently using BIOS, and while GRUB2 could see the gpt partitions, it could not get the boot correct. I even tried making 2 primary partitions under MSDOS, in hopes that GRUB2 would see them, but the gparted manager would only allow 1 boot flag. Not sure where to go from here. (It is my growing impression that the install scripts on the Live CD for Ubuntu are pretty rigid) Anyone know how to set up a UEFI boot for Ubuntu 12.04? Thanks for your time.
