I can't help but interject here, that *everybody* should have access
to metro ethernet-like services.  There is no engineering or economic
reason that we can't all have this kind of access for <$50/month.
Cities around the world are implementing this stuff.  It doesn't cost
them the $2k/month that metro ethernet costs here.  The reasons for
this gigantic failure are politically-entrenched interests.  It's
within our collective power to alter that.  I encourage people to let
their remaining mayoral candidates know that this is a topic they want
resolved in their favor.
