Ed, I considered just logging out and back in, but did not know if that sourced /etc/group. Since the Sony Vaio is a laptop it is used to being rebooted and I knew that would cause the appropriate utilities to re-read the group file. > rebooting....how quaint and retro... ;-) Actually, she leaves the laptop on for days at a time.
