Hi Rich,
While I have yet to try org-mode, it does look interesting. If no one
answers here, you might try asking questions on IRC in the #emacs
channel of irc.freenode.net. There are several people there who use
org mode. (Contrariwise, there are some there who loathe it. Ye pays
yer money an' takes yer chances.) Also, the Emacs Wiki web page
<http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/OrgMode>
has some information, and pointers to lots more.
