After looking through several log files I ran across a place where I saw an IP address that shouldn't have been there. It was one I had used on that box before switching to DHCP. My guess is that when I switched to DHCP there was someplace -- probably in Myth -- that I needed to change, too, but I can't fine it now. I'm thinking the best thing to do, since I'm still trying to get it working for more or less the first time, is to reinstall and go with DHCP right off. But, now I'm concerned that I need the facility mentioned by several folks that insures that my router, a WRT54G version 6, always assigns the Myth box the same IP address after power cycling. I don't find that capability. So now I'm back to thinking about sticking with a static ip assignment for the box, or getting a replacement WRT54G, a newer model. If I go the route of a newer model router, what is the current favorite among the cognoscenti? -- Regards, Richard C.
