Update: stopped and restarted CUPS. The report is that the scheduler has been restarted (cups: restarted scheduler. [OK]) but when I now try to print I get a different error: [rshepard@salmo ~]$ lpr 8000034681.pdf lpr: Error - scheduler not responding! Ideas on how to find the source of this error needed.
