Hi, i run Manjaro Linux very well on a IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad,
it’s a x201 12” lightweight laptop (i5 at 2.5 ghz, 8 gb ram, ssd).

You can find very cheap thinkpads on ebay with core2duo processors that run 
linux very well:
x60,x61,t60,t61..
