N.B.: This is not a problem for which I seek a solution here, but an
observation of PITA behavior by firefox.

For quite some time I've noticed that firefox's behavior germane to
having the history 'bar' on the left of the screen available with the
keyboard shortcut of C-h varies with the version.

Yesterday I upgraded from 24.6 to the patched 24.7 and realized that it is
only with the even-number versions that a freshly-invoked firefox will
display the history with C-h. Odd-number versions require me to enable that
behavior by navigating the menu system.

Why this behavior changes from one version to the next is beyond my
understanding, and why it is modulo-2-specific also makes no sense to me.
But, that's the way it's been here for a very long time. Annoying, but
affects only the initial loading of the application.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else seen this behavior? Perhaps it's
specific to Slackware packages, but that makes no sense, either.
