IIRC, this is done via a simple cups.conf settings. Check out:

(Section on "Seeing Printers on Other Subnets")

3.http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-networking-3/configuring-cups-to-print-across-subnets-329731/

You should not need to fiddle with firewall or port forward settings
unless you are looking to print from outside your network(i.e.
internet via coffee shop etc.), or one of your gateways is behind an
additional firewall.

Disclaimer: Its been a *very* long time since I fiddled with this so
details are a but foggy,
