I've moved from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 14.04. A problem has arisen that seems familiar, as if I went through it once with 12.04. I've done some searching, but haven't found the former solution, which I'm guessing will be similar to whatever it is I need to do in 14.04. Hopefully one of you will recognize the problem and kick me in the right direction.
Environment: Ubuntu 14.04 with Gnome Classic. Sometimes, but not always, when I click on a link in an e-mail, Firefox, which is already running but minimized, will restore itself to the screen and open the link, but the minimize, maximize, close buttons will be missing from the title bar of the window. I can still right-click on the button at the bottom of the screen and have access to the minimize, maximize, close functions. Also, if I minimize and restore from that button, the controls will re-appear on the restored window. I recall that there was something to do with Compiz or Metacity, but my foo has been insufficient to reveal to me which part of which of those I should be looking at. It's also possible that that recollection was related to something totally different. Sigh. A pointer to which tool fixes this problem will be appreciated. -- Regards, Dick Steffens _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
