That's the height of the drive. Some SSDs are 7mm. 9mm drives 
typically won't work in machines designed for 7mm drives.

7mm drives can work in machines built for 9mm drives, though you may 
need a space adapter to keep it from rattling around. (They cost a 
just a few dollars online.)
